Do you think video games are a bad influence on kids? I think it depends. Many children do inappropriate things because of the video games they play. As a result, Video games influence bad behavior, inactive behavior and contribute to school problems, such as bullying and teasing.

First, videogames influence bad behavior, causing young teens to lash out. For example, on my dad’s side, I have a little stepbrother. He’s only ten and he swears and does other inappropriate things, often acting rude. According to his mom, he gets it from video games and the internet, where he is exposed to adult language. He then thinks it is cool to swear or be violent, not realizing he is actually unprofessional.  

Next, kids are not getting any exercise while they are playing video games. Even kids who are playing education games are exercising their brains, but not their bodies. Obesity and weight-related diseases are a big problem communities across America. Instead of doing productive and useful things, many young American children are wasting time in front of a TV all day. Video games contribute to this problem Kids should play real basketball, not pretend basketball on a game.  

On the other hand, some people think that video games are good for children. My aunt said, “video games are good because it helps them concentrate.” Yet, those who think that are wrong because it only helps them concentrate on negative things. It is not helping them focus on what is important like school, friends, family and their future.  

Overall, video games influence bad behavior, inactive behavior, and disrespect between students. Parents! Actually consider this note and pay attention to the video games your children play. When you buy a game, check the rating! You’re affecting YOUR child’s future. “You’re swinging an ax. You’re pulling a trigger. You’re using a sword or a knife and plunging it into someone’s heart,” says Yee. What is he talking about? He is describing the videogames of our world. In my opinion, I feel that videogames negatively influence kids. I say this for the following reasons: Videogames alter how kids act in the real world, expose children to depraved and violent weapons and are hazardous because they jeopardize their wellbeing. Third, videogames teach them nothing. Kids should not perceive this. Kids are adolescent and these videogames are cultivated. Last, the society is exceedingly appalling. Though I say this, not videogames are scandalous. Occasionally, they are made for amusement. This, videogames can promote violent behavior, but it moreover depends on the kid, the game, and the society.

First, videogames alter how kids act in the real world. Children do decadent things because of examining and hearing things. The things that they do can lead them into mischief. For example, my aunt said, “I feel that the videogames give them ideas of what they can do in the real world which could get them hurt.” I can concur with that statement. 74.3% of kids in Illinois do that. Some are noble. Some are immoral. Above all, videogames negatively alter children’s minds.

Additional, the weapons in videogames are exceedingly negative. It should be exposed to the mind of a child. If kids examine what violent things that happen to innocent and/or sinful people, they will consider the idea of doing that in the real world. For example, a kid in Phoenix, Arizona played a rated M game. The “M” means mature. If contained many weapons and much violence. He is now a monstrous, nasty, vicious kid. Also, a 4 year old in Chicago played these violent videogames. Now, he is very distinct. Cleary, we should not play these games for the simple fact that it contains many weapons.

Furthermore, the videogames teach you nothing but how to play it. Kids play games on their game systems without actually knowing how to play it in the real world. For instance, Super Mario Galaxy, Need for Speed, and Guitar Hero teach you nothing. It may be fun to play, but it doesn’t guide you on how to do anything. This is because we are inactive. To acquire knowledge, we must do it ourselves and not from the teachings of a videogame.

Last, the society is exceedingly atrocious. People yell at others just to be evil. It is an indisputable fact that most kids in the U.S.A. do things by examining things. If they examine that on the television, they will most likely consider the idea that it is okay to do that in the real world, which is incorrect. Therefore, kids should not play videogames that have a corrupt society. Nonetheless, many people think that videogames are a 100% positive influence for kids. These people claim that they are ALWAYS fun to play and that they don’t cause any negative influence. However, they do not realize the videogames sometimes do cause a negative influence. For example, one student in U.N.I. said,” I disagree. It is kind of a good thing for kids. They can play them if they’re bored.” Even though you can fill your boredom with videogames, it still does not change the fact that it contains things that kids should not see. As it is clear, videogames sometimes do have a 100% positive influence for kids.

In conclusion, videogames promote a negative influence for kids because it contains things that kids shouldn’t see. If you’re a kid out there playing the violent videogames, STOP!! You are wasting your time. If you play non-violent videogames, then good for you. If you think you can learn from a videogames, think again. To all you parents, monitor what your kids play and watch. You never know.   Do you think that today’s hottest rappers are setting a positive example? Well, I do not think that they are. I think this because they mistreat women, talk only about themselves, and do not do anything positive for the community.  

First, in today’s high fashioned economy, we do not see what rappers are doing to use mentally everyday. They are rapping about how rich they are and usually they are bragging about how cool they are. I can agree with my mom when she says, “I believe that hip-hop in the past had a message of unity and preserving the culture. It was an art from. But today’s rap does not help children gain a positive sense of knowledge.” This shows that rappers do not put forth a positive influence. Instead, they only talk about themselves.  

Many people may have role models, but most people do not know what a good role model is. When I asked my father what he thinks makes a great role model, he stated, “a great role model is just a normal, well being man or woman who you look up to.” I believe is right because to me, most role models are just normal people who strive do good in their daily life. A role model is not some big shot on TV who brags about all he has and how he never had to work for it, like so many rappers.  

I know some people may disagree with me. For example, my friend said, “Well, I think most rappers do have a lot of great spirit and are good role models.” I have to disagree with him though because rappers are not providing us with what our community needs.  

In conclusion, I think that today’s rappers do not set a good example for anyone.
